SJPDL – South Jersey Player Development League

The SJSL South Jersey Player Development League (SJPDL) is a U6 and U7 league dedicated to helping introduce our younger soccer enthusiasts into a higher level of competition.

The SJPDL will allow our younger athletes, seeking more engagement, the opportunity to take the next step from local recreational leagues into the the travel soccer world. 

The league rules will be based on many of the current 7v7 rules format with the following modifications:

▪ Duration and Ball Size: Match duration will be 2 25-minute halves.

▪ Halftime will be 5 minutes.

▪ Equipment: A size 4 ball will be used for all matches and practices

▪ Officiating: to be assigned by assignor.

▪ Locations: Participating clubs to provide 7v7 field.

▪ Locations: Deptford Soccer Complex also available to all teams.

▪ Length of Season: to be 6 weeks beginning 9/22 and wrap up 11/07

▪ No games Columbus Day weekend

▪ Coaches and discuss to change schedule

▪ All Teams will be invited to Columbus Day Tournament in Deptford

▪ Festivals of games at Deptford can be scheduled – 2 games a night per team.

The invitation is being extended to all clubs and to Boys, Girls and Coed teams.

The goal of the SJPDL is to simply…get the ball rolling earlier for our athletes.

We hope this prepares and gets teams ready for their respective travel leagues.
